Shipwrecks of the Sunshine State
In perhaps the best book I have ever read about Florida shipwrecks, Barnette has written a fascinating and exciting book about over 150 shipwrecks in Florida’s maritime history. Many thousands of ships have wrecked off the coast of Florida over the past 400 years. Each wreck has a story and Barnette brilliantly writes not only the story of each tragic loss, but also a detailed description of the wreck site including GPS/LORAN coordinates, depth, current, and interesting wreck features.
There are hundreds of historical and underwater photos as well as over a hundred color photos of artifacts retrieved from some of the sunken wrecks, and detailed site maps. Also included are the GPS and LORAN coordinates to almost 1000 shipwrecks.
